Canterbury Cluster Rotary Woodland Walk – The Routes

On the following pages the details of the route sections are displayed and can be printed off for your reference. There are eleven pages which are numbered as Blue Route and Red Route.

The Blue Route is for entrants without dogs. This section starts and ends at the University of Kent at Canterbury Visitors’ Car Park.

The Red Route is for entrants walking with dogs and this starts and ends at the Gypsy Corner Car Park on Radfall Road.

Both walks will start at the same time thus ensuring that entrants from one walk are separated from entrants from the other walk.

Toilet facilities should be available at:

  • The University of Kent at Canterbury
  • Mayton Farm.
  • Gypsy Corner.

These three points are also “pick up” points. A mini-bus service will be available to carry participants (and marshals) from one of these points to another during the day. If an entrant feels that he/she does not wish to continue the walk please contact one of the marshals and the pick up service will be summoned to collect you from the nearest of the three pick-up points.

In the case of needing assistance any entrant is asked to contact the nearest marshal who will contact central control by phone and the appropriate assistance will be arranged.

Please be aware that this is a Woodland Walk and that proper walking shoes are advised. Flip-flops or open shoes are not appropriate for the distance or the terrain of this walk.

All entrants are asked to remember that any litter should be put in the receptacles provided, any dog fouling should be contained in the poop-bags provided and placed in the containers provided. The walk is through the countryside and we ask that all entrants leave the pathways in the same condition that they find it.

The organisers thank all participants and hope that the day is enjoyed by all. Between us all the aim is to have a very enjoyable day, raising funds for worthwhile causes and making new friends into the bargain.

Above all have fun!
